The fungal ecology group forms part of the Organisms and Environment division of Cardiff School of Biosciences.

Lynne and the Cardiff fungi group are fascinated by all sorts of fungi, but we specialise in the wood-decay basidiomycetes. We study them on agar, in soil microcosms (see picture left) and in the field, investigating their interactions with each other, invertebrates and bacteria. We also maintain a large culture collection to draw on for our experiments, which has been shared with researchers around the world.
